The laborer of an unbending spirit

Abstract

The article discusses the path of becoming of a great scientist, the last descendant of Alashorda, a man with a
noble heart, thinking about the future of his country – Kayum Mukhamethanov.
The article speaks about Kayum Mukhamethanov: as a bibliographer who wrote explanatory notes to 3-4 printed work
editions of Abai; as a historian studying the legacy of Abai, the history of writing and printing the works of great Abai;
as a collector of poems, the works of the great akyn.
He is a textologist on the correct writing Abai’s works ; a theorist who wrote a monograph about Abay and his
literary traditions; folklorist, who collected examples of the literary heritage of that era, examples of oral folk art –
poems and songs of the people, stories and legends.
