Abstract

The reasons for the collapse of the great Empire in the sources. The article sets the task on the basis of sources sequentially to
consider the main reasons for the collapse of the Soviet Union. As a result of the analysis, the authors identified a number of factors
that influenced the process of the collapse of the USSR, which led to the termination of its existence as a state in 1991. New
information technologies of psychological pressure through mass culture on people's consciousness, especially on national feelings
were used. Financial systems were in a direct battle. Thus, I would like to move away from what did not affect the destruction of the
Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. You don't have to go far for an example. Once upon a time the concept of "evil Empire" was
developed, Ronald Reagan in his memoirs: "I was convinced that communism without changes, will not be able to lift its weight and
will fall on itself. I thought about how to speed up the process of its collapse, using the same vulnerabilities of the Soviet system."
