Abstract

A competitive person is a person who can adapt to a difficult economic situation, avoid losing his psychological wellbeing and maintain high authority in society, as well as systematically acquire new knowledge and skills.
Young people play an important role in political reforms and economic shocks in the country. Therefore, the aim of our
study is to study the values of life, values and attitudes of young people, thus studying the world of knowledge of the young
generation.
The object of the study, conducted according to a special sociological questionnaire (formalized interview), included two
groups: the main, actually young people from 17 to 26 years old inclusive (1796 people were interviewed in total) and the
control, representing the older generation from 40 to 60 years old (total 655 people were interviewed).
The accepted interval between age groups is justified by the objectives of the study, and above all - the need to identify the
nature and characteristics of the impact on changing interests, life plans and value orientations of generations of «children»
and «fathers» of not only age, but also social (institutional) conditions and factors, operating in modern Kazakhstani society.
The article «Pragmatism and Competitive Youth» analyzes sociological research on how young people evaluate their
capabilities and life values, in which they can realize themselves in the future.
