Status of the Ombudsman in the Republic of Uzbekistan: novelties of legislation and practice of its implementation

Abstract

The article provides a detailed analysis of changes in the legal status of the Ombudsman in the light of changes made in
the last three years to the Law "On the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for human rights (Ombudsman)". The essence and
significance of the new powers of the Ombudsman, his human rights activities for the observance of constitutional rights and
freedoms are considered. The functioning of the Ombudsman institution is considered through the prism of the results of the
application of the law's novelties.
