Architecture of mosques of Petropavlovsk city in the beginning of XIX – XX century

Abstract

The article outlines the material that gives an idea about development of architecture of the mosques in
Petropavlovsk in the middle of the 19th century and early 20th century. Based on the example of six stone mosques,
architectural-planning, three-dimensional and stylistic aspects of their development are considered. The typical regional
features of the cult buildings of Northern Kazakhstan are illustrated using the example of the mosques of Petropavlovsk.
