Abstract

The article identifies the main problems in the training of specialists in international law and suggests
ways to overcome them. It is noted that, upon completion of training, specialists from international law
should receive a full set of professional competencies that form their readiness for professional activity. That
is why it is advisable to diversify teaching methods, change the forms of students ’activities when writing
practical classes and monitor students’ knowledge using the method of problem-based learning. The
readiness of students for professional activities depends primarily on the availability of practical skills that
they can apply in their work immediately after graduation. The formation of such skills is the primary task of
teachers.
The use of innovative forms and methods of training specialists in international law will allow combining
the effective assimilation of theoretical material with the acquisition of practical skills. Thus, the
professional competencies necessary for the professional activities of specialists in international law will be
formed.
