Abstract

The article provides a brief history of the formation of the jury trial, provides a description of the various types of jury trials. The relevance of the topic is determined by the place of the judicial system in balancing the three branches of government, as well as in the perception by civil society of the jury trial as a manifestation of its openness and democracy.

The aim of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of the jury system that has developed in Kazakhstan in protecting the rights of people.

The scientific significance of the article lies in the critical analysis of the Kazakhstani model of the jury trial, the ten-year experience of its formation, the search for a solution to the problem of increasing its efficiency.

The authors used comparative historical, statistical and special legal research methods.

The results of the study are given in a brief conclusion about the reasons for the low efficiency of jury trials in Kazakhstan.

The value of this study in expanding the range of such works in the state language and attempts to find ways to solve the problem.

The recommendations of the authors to improve the efficiency of the jury trial are of practical importance both for legislative work and in the training of professional lawyers.
