International legal framework for the regulation and effective use of energy relations

Abstract

This article provides a comparative analysis of the existing international agreements on cooperation in the field of energy and energy security and the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT). The ECT is the first multilateral international treaty establishing rules for the network transit of energy. At the conclusion of the ECT multilateral agreements, the features of network transit that are of key importance in the energy sector were identified.
