Impact of WTO Accession on the Russian Aluminum Industry

Abstract

In this article, the role of aluminum in the activity of the construction complex is considered. The circumstances that
determine the relevance of the reference to the research topic of the Russian aluminum industry are indicated. Also, serious
problems that the aluminum industry of Russia faced immediately after joining the WTO were noted. The ways of combating
the consequences of negative economic factors are indicated. The reasons why aluminum is not used in Russia at all in full
are considered ─ foreign dumping, counterfeiting, obsolete laws and standards. Comparative characteristics of aluminum
consumption of other countries were made. Also, the article indicates the activities and plans of the Aluminum Association to
change the situation for the better. The decisions of the discrepancy between Russian products and the structure of
consumption of the world market were given
