Abstract

The article reveals all the prerequisites that the Republic of Kazakhstan has for the development of tourism:
favorable geographic location, vast territory and diverse landscapes, rich cultural and historical heritage, living traditions,
hospitable hospitality, excellent gastronomy and relatively low labor costs, etc. The types of tourism that are proposed to be
classified as natural-oriented are analyzed. The components of the sustainable development of tourism are identified and its
importance in the rational land use and restoration of the natural resource potential is shown. A cost-based mechanism for
ensuring the development of ecologically sustainable tourism is provided. The article also defines the role of natural
resources in the development of a number of types of tourism, which can be classified as natural-oriented. The channels of
connection of nature-oriented tourism and sustainable development of territories are shown. A cost-based mechanism of
nature management has been identified to ensure the development of ecologically sustainable tourism. However, the problem
of an integrated approach to the organizational and economic evaluation of the implementation of rehabilitation measures
and their possible effectiveness in enhancing sustainable development of tourism requires further research.
