Using digital technology to increase students' motivation in learning a foreign language

Abstract

Digital technologies are rewriting the rules of modern education, opening new perspectives in foreign language learning. This article explores the impact of digital technologies on students' motivation and their success in learning a foreign language. The authors present an overview of modern technological solutions that can make the learning process more interesting and engaging. The methods examined include mobile applications, online courses, interactive learning courses, social networks and forums, virtual assistants and chatbots, podcasts and video lessons, online dictionaries and translators, adaptive platforms and artificial intelligence. These methods are actively used to stimulate students' interest and motivation.

The article is based on analysing a variety of sources and conducting a survey among master's students of Astana IT University. The research identifies key aspects of using digital technologies for learning and teaching foreign languages, as well as their impact on students' motivation and language proficiency.
