Current issues оf teaching social and humanities disciplines: traditions and innovations

Abstract

The issue of cognitive motivation of students is one of the key issues in pedagogy and teaching methods. The actualization of this issue is currently associated with the problems of modernization of education in Kazakhstan. One of these problems is due to the search for means to develop the cognitive abilities of students. Humanitarianization of education can help solve this problem. The potential of general education disciplines such as sociology, political science, cultural studies, philosophy in the process of socialization and development of cognitive motivation of students is very high. The authors of the article made an attempt to show educational potential of these disciplines using the example of the use of innovative teaching technologies by teachers teaching general education disciplines on the basis of the Educational Institution «Alikhan Bokeikhan University».
