Abstract

The article is devoted to the legal regulation of green public procurement, which is a relevant and multifaceted area of study in the context of sustainable development and environmental responsibility. The analysis considers key aspects of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including existing regulations and initiatives aimed at introducing the principles of the green economy.

The cross-country analysis compares Kazakhstan's practices with international standards and practices adopted in various countries, such as the European Union countries and the USA. The mechanisms of implementation of green procurement are discussed, as well as its impact on environmental and economic sustainability, social aspects and resource management.

The article focuses on the legal and organisational barriers faced by public authorities and businesses, as well as promising approaches for improving legislation in this area. The results of the study highlight the need for a more active integration of environmental criteria into the public procurement system, which can help to improve the efficiency of budget spending and create a favourable environment for the development of 'green' business in Kazakhstan.

The conclusion formulates recommendations for improving the legal regulation of green public procurement, which can serve as a basis for further research and practical solutions in this area.
