This study examines how the integration of Kazakh traditions into English language learning enhances cultural consciousness among secondary school students. It focuses on the need for cultural sensitivity in foreign language learning and explores how Kazakh culture contributes to language comprehension. A mixed-methods framework, including pre-tests, post-tests, and case studies, assesses the pedagogic value of culturally contextualized lessons. This research's findings suggest that these types of methods, apart from constructing language competence, also construct intercultural competences. It is important in curriculum development to promote teaching strategies which cross over language and culture in assisting students to deal with their own cultures and other cultures of a globalizing world.
