Toponymic space of the Tarbagatay district of the East Kazakhstan region as a reflection of the material and spiritual culture of the Kazakh people

Abstract

This article is written down in the framework of the scientific project “Onomastic space of East Kazakhstan
region as a form of reflection of spirituality and the national code (on the example of toponymic names of Tarbagatai,
Ayaguz, and Urzhar districts)”, submitted for the grunt funding competition of the scientific and (or)scientific-technical
projects for 2018-2020 years in the priority direction: Scientific bases “Mangelik el” (education of the 21st century,
fundamental and applied researches in the Humanities).
The article deals with the peculiarities of toponymy of Tarbagatai district of East Kazakhstan region.
Linguistic and stylistic analysis of oronyms, hydronyms, oikonyms of the specified area allows to speak about the
richness and originality of the history of the region, reflecting the material and spiritual culture of the Kazakh people.
According to the authors, the analysis of the semantic models of the toponymic material allows to recreate the
spatial and linguistic picture of the world of the past and present Tarbagatai district, to trace the stages of ethnocultural development of the region, language contacts, to oPutline the ways of further study of its toponymic space.
