Epistolary genre in belles-lettres

Abstract

This article deals with the epistolary style, samples of which are found in works of fiction.
In Kazakh literature there are also works created in the epistolary genre.
In the texts of fiction, the authors seek to recreate the grammatical and lexical features of the epistolary style.
Authors of works of art, depicting this time, tend to take letters created in that era as a sample.
It should be noted that the meaning of some words of Arabic – Persian origin may be incomprehensible to the
modern reader. In this case, the authors apply to the explanation of individual expressions, comparisons, metaphors
and other tropes.
The epistolary style, as is known, serves as a kind of transmission of the psychological state of the hero of the
work, his experiences, the inner state of his soul, and therefore he is close to the reader. Addressed to a specific person,
the letter conveys a whole range of subjective feelings and emotions of the writer. Therefore, the epistolary style in
literature has its own laws of formation and further development, provides the author with ample opportunities for the
comprehensive disclosure of the inner world of the characters
